Hello, my name is Mrs. Anderson and I am excited to be working with you and your child this year! I am originally from Hawarden, IA and attended the University of South Dakota where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education. Upon graduation, I taught in Sioux Falls Public Schools in various positions for eight years. I stayed home with my family for a short while and then returned to the education world by substituting at Canton Lawrence Elementary in 2006-2007, and had a blast doing that. I am also an active PATCHES member (Parents And Teachers Connecting To Help Every Student) and encourage parents to attend those monthly meetings to be involved in the world of education.
Farrell, my husband, works for a commercial roofing company, Tremco, Inc., in sales. We have three children who keep us very busy. The oldest child, Elliott, is now a Sixth Grader. He loves sports of all kinds and animals. Chloe is a fourth grade student in Mrs. Heck's class, and is a fashion diva that spends her day answering the phone, and reading. Wyatt is now in second grade with Mr. Vonk and enjoys soccer, swimming, and getting dirty!
In our spare time, we enjoy traveling, playing golf, basketball, baseball, soccer, and watching the C-Hawk sports and fine arts activities. Our highlight this year was a two week trip to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We rode the Amtrak to Glacier National Park in Montana/Canada, which is breathtaking, traveled onward to Seattle, Washington and up to the San Juan Islands to go whale watching. We concluded our trip by driving down the west coast and staying at Cannon Beach, Oregon playing in the Pacific Ocean. It was a very educational trip in many ways and we stayed close to Lewis and Clark's Fort Clatsop where they finally had made their Pacific Northwest Passage Discovery.
That's just a little about me
and I look forward to learning more about everyone!
